Good places to eat in Malacca

Here are my thoughts on good places to makan in Malacca :
1) Fried egg with oyster (Otherwise known as "or-chien")? Some like the style of "or-chien" at the back lane on Jalan Bunga Raya (opposite Mdm Kings) - however, I prefer this stall located along Jalan Ujong Pasir (parallel to the Main road at Malacca Raya) . Opens at night and operates from Second Sister Fishball Stall (See pic) . However if you are compelled to have the "or-chien" at Bunga Raya, you should also try the wantan mee that operates at the same premise.

My rating : 7.5/10

2) Teochew seafood - Interesting place along 2nd Cross Street (bisects Jonker and Heeren Street) - Teochew restaurant - reservation is a must.Call : 06-2822353 No 55 Second Cross Street Malacca. Must have the soft shell crabs, steamed crab/ promfret/ teochew duck. Order your yam dessert up front or you won't get any!!!

My rating : 7/10

3) Wantan mee -
No 40 Jln Tun Tan Cheng Lock (Heeren Street). Old fashioned wantan mee. Good stuff if you want something light. This shop is only a few metres away from the famous cendol place .. behind Heeren Street

My rating : 7.5/10

4) Sate Celup - Capitol Sate Celup

Address:Capitol Satay Celup Restaurant41 Lorong Bukit Cina, 75100 Melaka, MalaysiaTel: +60-6-2835508, +60-12-2295505Third generation owner: Low Yong ChengOperating hours: Daily from 5:00 pm (Closed on Monday)

My rating : 8.5/10

5) For the best Fried cruellers (Yu Char Koey) especially the fried "ma-keok" - located along Jalan Bendahara (alley next to Renaissance Hotel) - operates at night. Definitely worth a try.

My rating : 8.5/10
